Frequently Asked Questions 🌱
Online Farmstand - 2025
Deliveries will be made in recycled carboarded boxes. A Box Rotation Program can eventually be put in place as deliveries become more frequent.
We will deliver between 2PM and 7PM. We're happy to drop your order in an insulated box if you leave one outside.
Our delivery zone covers most of Cantley, Gatineau and Val-des-Monts. If our system lets you check out even if you are outside delivery zone, we might cancel your order - we will let you know.
Delivery requires a minimum order size of 200$ and fees are 30$ per delivery. Feel free to combine orders from friends and family to reach the minimum size! Thank you for your understanding.
Make sure to bring a bag or box to pack your order!
Orders will be available to pick up in self-served designated boxes. Your box is identified by your first name and the first letter of your last name. Since everyone's order is different, make sure to always pick up your box.
Take only the contents of the box, not the box itself.
Your order will be available for pickup for a 21h period, starting from 3PM on the pickup day to noon the next day.
It is your responsibility to contact us in advance if you cannot pick up your order so we can arrange an alternative. Without news from you, orders not picked up during the allotted hours will be donated and you will still be charged.
There is no specific pickup/delivery day to choose when placing an order. You order will be ready for pickup or delivery on the next planned day - these are more or less every 2 weeks.
For example, if you place an order on April 2nd and the next pickup/delivery day is April 8th, your order will be available for pickup/delivered on April 8th.
Deadline for orders is before 6AM on the pickup/delivery day.
For example, if the next pickup/delivery day is April 8th, you must have placed your order before 6AM on April 8th to be able to pick it up/have it delivered on April 8th. If you place your order on April 8th but after 6AM it will be ready for pickup/delivery on the next date.
You can see upcoming dates on the Online Farmstand page.
If you place multiple orders before a certain order date (see above) under the same account, they will all be combined in the same basket.
Delivery. If you are placing follow-up orders to be added to an initial order that you asked to be delivered, you do not need to select and purchase delivery every time - you can select "pickup" at checkout for the others and we will still add these "top-up" orders to your delivery.
For meat, all the prices presented on the Online Farmstand are the maximum pre-approved amount for this item. Just like at the gas station!
For meat item, you will find the price per weight on that item's page (click the image while on Online Farmstand page instead of selecting "Add to cart"). You will also see the average weight of that meat item.
The price you see at checkout, is basically the maximum this piece could cost depending on the specific weight - we established this looking at the weight of the largest.
The real cost will be charged to your card, only once we have weighted the items and packed your order.
General questions
Simply place an order through our Online Farmstand! ✨ Contact us if you required assistance.
We still don't have a store at the farm. All orders must be placed through our website, see the "Online Farmstand" section above. Please don't show up at the farm before we have set a date and time so we can make sure someone is there to assist you. 👩🔧👨🔧
Our 2025 delivery zone will be similar to 2024. If you would like to have your order delivered, but are unable to checkout, contact us for available options! Pickup at the farm option is always available and free.
See "Delivery system" section above for more details.
No. We still don't have a store at the farm, but you can come pick up an order you have placed online for free.
If your order is not picked up by noon, the day following your pickup day, your produce will be considered lost, and you will still be charged.
Please do not show up at the farm for pick up other than on the day or before 3PM - your order will not be ready.
Note that we have a protected area on the farm where your refrigerated basket are picked up in a self-served system, but we are not opened for public visits or purchases at the same time.
Since 2025, we have reduced our vegetables production to focus on the survival of our farm. We continue to care for our herds, but our vegetable productions was drastically reduced.
Small scale farming means availability of products is seasonal. For example, sheep are seasonal breeders, so more diversity of lamb cuts are available in the early months of the year than in the later months.
If a a classic cut is absent, it means that our stocks for that cut are empty - for example, tenderloins tend not last too long! Please contact us for reservations.
Baskets have stopped since 2025 to focus on the survival of our farm. The Online Farmstand is still open for orders!

At Jardin des Collines, our agricultural philosophy is grounded in a holistic approach that considers environmental sustainability, food quality, and human health. As ecology graduates, we're on a mission to create a farm that balances productivity with long-term ecosystem health and consumer well-being.
See this page for our pasture approach to animal raising.
We've chosen not to pursue organic certification because we believe in a more nuanced, science-based approach to farming. Our methods are guided by comprehensive, long-term thinking that goes beyond the constraints of traditional organic standards.
Our pest and weed management strategy is flexible and context-dependent. We carefully evaluate each situation, considering multiple factors:
- Long-term environmental impact
- Soil health and biodiversity
- Crop resilience and yield
- Overall ecosystem balance
- Human health benefits and risks
- Food quality and nutritional value
We prioritize natural and preventative measures, but we don't rule out the judicious use of modern agricultural tools when necessary. Any intervention is carefully chosen based on a thorough analysis of its overall impact, including potential effects on human health.
We believe that responsible farming in the 21st century requires an adaptive approach that leverages the best available scientific knowledge. This allows us to produce healthy, abundant food while minimizing environmental impact and prioritizing consumer health.
We value transparency and encourage our customers to ask questions about our farming methods. We're always happy to discuss the specifics of our practices and the reasoning behind our decisions.
Unfortunately, we do not have farm tours or activities at the moment. In Québec, a special permit is required to conduct farm tours and agritourism activities such as picking. We still don't have this permit, but we will let you know as soon as we do and offer activities! Still, you can choose "pick up at the farm" when you place an order with us, and you can see where your veggies are grown! 👩🌾👨🌾
YES! We grow fruits and vegetables seasonally, and we have a strict NO WASTE policy. 🙅♀️ Follow us on Facebook or Instagram and sign up to our newsletter to be the first to receive updates on our sales! They happen throughout the year depending on demand and yields so stay tuned to help us fight food waste! 👩🍳
